I was wondering if it’s okay to run and take advantage of the new features of Traveller 8.5, while the rest of our domino domain is in 8.0.2 (or 7.0.3).
I know the 8.5 can deal with the mail files etc from the version, but will all be okay if I create a new 8.5 server, add it to the domino domain and then add traveller? We are just wanting to test things out at the moment, so I wasn’t planning on upgrading the domain to 8.5 yet?
I get the impression this is okay, or do I need to upgrade the directory to 8.5?
Subject: RE: Can you use Traveler 8.5 on a Domino 8.0.2 Domain - Yes
I assume you are talking about upgrading your directory on the 8.0.2 server(s) to 8.5.
If that assumption is correct, then you don’t have to upgrade the directory.
The limitation here is if you create 8.5 policies on the 8.5 (Traveler) server, you will need to have these replicate to the mail server(s) if you want to use the security policy features. But, I suspect you aren’t ready to get into that much depth yet.
If that assumption is incorrect, then I’m not sure exactly what you are asking.
