Hi Can we use the DAOS for a normal notes database or it is only useful for a mail file.I have a database with huge attachments, Can I use this functionality? Will this functionality for for the replica database on a cluster server? If any one has some idea please let me know … Thanks

DAOS does not know (or care) what application template is being used for the NSF. If it’s an NSF, and it’s on an 8.5.x server, and ODS51, you can enable DAOS on it.
DAOS is transparent to clients and other servers. Replication will occur normally if DAOS is enabled or not.

Thanks a lot for your response Patrick.My question is, if the required database is on server A , and there is a replica of the same database on a cluster server B. Hence if I enable DAOS, the repositories will be created on each server. As this is a cluster, if any user hits the link on server A and if it is down, the link will point to Server B. In that case whether DAOS will get the required attachment from the repository.

Yes, if server A and server B are clustered and both servers are DAOS enabled with that app, hitting a link that directs them to A when A is down will send them to B and they’ll still be able to open the attachments from server B’s DAOS repository
