Does anyone know if it’s possible to send a custom alert via lotus notes (maybe the new lotus notes has a Widget we can use for this?) programatically to any Sametime user?
Briefly, we have lots of tools being used by traders and indeed processes on various servers which send out alerts using NET SEND, this is an old and unreliable technology which we want to replace with something better.
If Lotus Notes can do this we won’t need to deploy a service on everyone’s desktop to monitor a message queue.
Sametime has a rich set of toolkits (APIs) available and you should be able to do what you want from Notes/Domino or many other platforms/applications. For more information, check out the documentation available here:
