Can this be accomplished in Client Views?

.Given a single document containing 2 category fields & a title plus a view which displays the document as multiple entries. I would like the following view result…

Cat1 Cat2 Title

A

…A.1

…Same Document

B

…B.2

…Same Document

I’ve only achieved unwanted variations as in the following…

A

…A.1

…Same Document

…B.2

…Same Document

B

…A.1

…Same Document

…B.2

…Same Document

It seems I need to programmatically be able to query which entry in the 1st category field the Notes view is currently displaying (column 1 A or B) and programmatically decide what to display in column 2 (A.1 or B.2).

Try having just one categorized column and write a formula that returns a list containing the top-level category followed by \ and the second-level category. For instance if you have a field Cat1 that contains “A”:“B” and Cat2 that contains “A.1” : “B.2”, the formula would be:

Cat1 + “\” + Cat2
