Can some one answer this please

We are a small company using domino 8.5 for around 30 users. our domino server is inside the LAN network, the router forwards the port 25 to a microsoft smtp listener server and from there it gets forwarded to domino.

Right now we have installed lotus traveler , but is it safe to open and open and forward port 80 in router to domino for traveler access.

Generally i know that its not very safe… but my point is … is domino vulnerable for web attacks?? and is there any easy way to configure https ???

i have posted this question here few times … but didn’t get any response… i hope this time i will get some advice

Regards

If you are concerned with security, you should force SSL usage (HTTPS).

Any web facing port is subject to attack. The HTTP server is certainly tested for many attacks, but you can never say never.

Setting up HTTPS should be fairly easy and is detailed in the Domino documentation.

The Traveler devices will prefer a trusted authority issued SSL certificate, but you can use a self-signed certificate and put up with the warnings.

Hi

I would’t open port 80, because data i unencrypted, use SSL, see this page: http://www.indomino.net/blog/2009/01/17/how-to-enable-ssl-in-lotus-domino/
