We have some employees who use our Lotus server for their calendar but their mail is forwarded to our parent organization’s email system, which is not Lotus.
This creates a problem with resource reservations. I created a new resource and wanted to assign a user as an owner but her email is forwarded to the parent org’s system. I get an error:
The following name: smith@company.com is not listed in the Name and Address Book.
I temporarily turned off the forwarding and tried to add her name but got the same error. I suppose some process has to run for the resources to recognize the change.
Also, people can’t see another person’s availability for meetings if they forward their email. Is there a workaround this?

we can not save a room or resource if there is a group allowed for reservations, and a member of this group has a forward address in the domino directory.
I have seen the same error many times over the years. To get around this you can copy the forwarding email address and add it as an extra entry in the Fullname field in the Person record.
Good news!This looks like a match with SPR GLAS6QRM8V (room owners that have Forwarding address in their Person document can’t approve/decline reservations for rooms they own) which was fixed in 8.5.2…
