Can a user with Reader Access in ACL and his name is in document reader’s field is able to create document.
His name is not in author field

If a user has a reader access in the ACL he can not create documents, though he can change/update public access documents and that too if he has the privilege of write public documents.
His Name in author field will not be considered as he has reader access in the ACL.

Hi Pankaj,
A user with ACL as reader and same name in readers field ll not be able to create document.
Only when ACL is Author then authors field comes into picture.
ACL… Author
Authors field… Same author name
Under this condition only
the author can create as wel as edit and delete the documents created by him(not others)
