Dear all,
For Domino Utility Express server, found the below content in IBM web site:
some enterprise-focused features are excluded in the license terms and conditions. These include:
No license for clustering or partitioning (except Utility Server Express)
No entitlement to use IBM WebSphere Application Server that accompanies the standard IBM Lotus Domino Server;
No license to IBM Lotus Domino Designer;
What does it mean “No License to IBM Lotus Domino Designer”? Does that mean I have to pay another domino designer license in order to modify my application code on the Express server? or the Express server don’t allow me to change design at all even I buy a seperate designer license?

very simple !! u cannot use domino designer in utility express. this acts as a web server.
no domino / web applications can be developed.
for this u hv to get, domino collobration express licence.

No – it simply means that you are not automatically entitled to use Domino Designer by virtue of having purchased Domino Utility Server Express. The Domino Designer client license is a separate, extra-cost product. (Domino Utility Server, whether Express or the regular kind, is a Domino application-only server, no user mail databases allowed. The Collaboration Server means mail plus applications. Messaging Server is mail-only.)
Note, though, that a Designer license is not server-specific. If you already have an entitlement to use Domino Designer, you can develop applications to run on your Utility Server.

Under “Domino Utility Server Express”, it says:
“Customers can take advantage of hundreds of existing third party Domino applications such as sales force automation, customer relationship management or call center tracking, or custom applications developed in-house or by one of the thousands of IBM business partners worldwide.”
“Custom applications developed in-house” means that yes, you can develop your own applications (without using extended ACLs and other non-express features). If you check the Express Restrictions section, they will tell you that Express does not include a license to use Domino Designer. That doesn’t mean you can’t create applications, just that you need to purchase a separate license for Designer if you do not already have one.
