Can Not Recertify Person after Upgrade to Domino 8.5

I am getting the following error while trying to Recertify any Person :

Admin Process: Received the following error performing a Recertify Person in Domino Directory request on somename/mydomain (File name: names.nsf; Name: somename/mydomain): User name not found in Domino Directory

The request get stuck and is never accomplished.

Before the upgrade it worked fine!.

Please help, thanks a lot.

Subject: More information…

We aren’t aware of any issues here.

If you have not already, I suggest you install Release 8.5 FP1.

Can you provide some information on your environment? For instance, are you using directory assistance on the administration server? Are there any directory catalogs (EDC/CDC) configured in DA on the administration server? This user is in the primary domino directory, correct? What does the users Fullname field look like (all values)? Can you verify how the user is listed in the $Users view (see http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/dx/05022008053852WEBEHC.htm if you are not familiar with hidden views)?

Was this request the result of a manual recertification? Are there any renames or move in hierarchies involved?

Subject: Re: More information…

Thank you for your recommendation:I will look for the update FP1 to Domino 8.5

Additional information

  • I get the error message when doing manual clik at “Recertify” option in tab People&Groups at Domino Administator client as well as when doing manual clik at "Rename " then “Request Move to New Certifier”,

  • The hidden view $users shows me 3 instances of every 1 document:

1st instance has the first column with value “firstname”

2nd instance has the first column with value “firstname lastname”

3rd instance has the first column with value “firstname lastname/organization”

About all other things you mention, yes we have used directory asistance, but we have not made any movements neither about ACL restrictions, nor about any server Configuration.

We only upgraded to 8.5 and got these errors.

Than you, I will appreciate any suggestion.

Subject: Some debug

Verify that the directory profile of each Domino Directory configured on the admin server as a unique domain set.

Can you provide ‘show xdir d’ output from the admin server? also set DEBUG_NAMELookup in your admin server notes.ini and check that output.

I assume there are no other issues lookup up these users (like adding them to the To: field in a memo or sending mail to them).

Subject: Re: Some Debug

Hello,First of all: I got the problems solved!

I only checked a Rol for my Main Server and got solved. That server’s missing rol was not preventing the Main server from working fine before the upgrade to 8.5.

I want to add the fact that we use an extended acl , and became quite complicated, and I think it was affected by the upgrade. I was about to eliminate the extended acl, we don’t need it much actually, and that could have solved the problem too.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Can you describe this in more detail? We’d like to understand this issue.

Subject: Not so good news

Hello everybody, I was sceptical about the move in the ACL because it worked fine for many time before the move. Now we have the same problem again, and we did not move the ACL. This is weird, even Lotus support do not tell us the precise cause or solution. I appreciate your help, thank you.

Subject: Can Not Recertify Person : Solved !

Hello David!!, I just had to eliminate the Search index,

of the Domino Directory,

with “Delete index…” button,

then I created it again,

with “Create index…” button,

at database properties window.

Your help was key.

Thank you!!!
