Can no longer connect remotely from 6.5.5 Client

I have been connecting to all our Domino servers remotely for a number of weeks fine. Then all of a sudden when I try to connect I get the error,

Remote system no longer responding

At the server side everything is fine because other users can still connect remotely

I can ping the servers and can connect to the web sites I am developing.

The error seems to be with the notes client.

Eventually I uninstalled then reinstalled the client and everything began to work, but this only lasted a day and once again stopped connecting.

I have deleted and recreated all connection documents and have deleted and recreated the TCPIP port, when I run a trace all I get is :- (I have replaced the IP address and server name with )

Determining path to server **/

Available Ports: TCPIP

Checking normal priority connection documents only…

Local network connection document found for **/

Verifying address ‘...**’ for **/ on TCPIP

Unable to connect to *****/*** on TCPIP (Remote system no longer responding)

Unable to find any path to **/ because Remote system no longer responding

I have ran a symantec virus scan and everything is fine

Please can anyone suggest anything else I can do.

Ping isn’t the greatest troubleshooting tool, but if you want to use it, try using larger packets. Something like this:ping -n 100 -l 8192

You may have a network issue.

I have tried nping a tool I got from the sandbox which connects on 1352 and it connects instantly

The problem seems to be in the client.
