Can Lotus 6.5.1 mail6.ntf template be used with lower Lotus Domino versions, i.e. 6.0.3?

We made sure everyone was running 6.0.3 or 6.5.1, and now everyone’s mailbox design is 6.5.1. No problems or complaints. We’re gradually upgrading the remaining 6.0.3 users to 6.5.1.

Should not prove a problem. However, there are som efeatures in 6.5 that are new compared to older versions, so beware of any “object missing” messages. But the mail-template is normally safe - I am currently using a 6.5 ntf on an otherwise R5 client. No errors so far, but obvioulsy som efeatures are missing (like Follow Up etc)

you may encounter some problems with C&S. Haven’t tested but I know the calendaring & scheduling stuff isn’t fully backward compatible.
Subject: R6 mail interoperability
You are correct, Gerco. Although you should be able to open the R6 mail database with lesser clients, and read/send email, there are many C&S features that will be “roped off” and unuseable by the lesser client. We have tried our best to code the R6 mail template so that odd lotusscript errors do not occur when opening and reading mail and reading C&S documents.

In the calendar view it is impossible to add appointments (no action buttons, and Create Calendar Appointment fails). It simply tells you that you are trying to run an earlier version of Notes which is’nt compatible with the template you are using, and would you please upgrade?!
