Can iNotes 9 users use Domino 8.5.x Sametime server?

Hello,

I have a test environment with a Domino 9 server and Notes 9 clients. I also have Sametime 8.5.1 on an existing/separate Domino 8.5.3 server.

With the embedded Sametime in Notes 9 sidebar, I can easily have the Notes clients connect to the existing Sametime server/community and all works fine.

Is there a way to have the same functionality for iNotes users, ie: use the existing Sametime 8.5.1/Domino 8.5.3 server? (without having to install/deploy the Webshere- Proxy server)

Another post mentioned that converting to the 8.5 mail template would work. I tried that on a test user but did not work for me (no Preference option to enable Instant Messaging etc.).

Are there any other possible solutions/work-arounds for this?

for st integration in inotes9 you have to use STproxy, stlinks is no longer supported
