This is a repost - Can someone from IBM please take a stab at this?
IBM Workplace Server requires “at least” a 2.0 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor and 4GB of RAM (an extremely powerful box for those of us on limited budgets)
Domino 6.x and the upcoming 7.0 don’t require anywhere near that much RAM (at least not as a minimum requirement).
Question -
I don’t mind purchasing a new high-powered server if it means that I can deploy IBM Lotus Workplace. But I also need to move my Mission Critical Domino 6.5.3 production server to a new box this year as well (old hardware is showing its age! :-).
So, if I get a box with dual NICs (one dedicated to each application server), can I run both on the same box? Or will I need to buy 2 new separate server boxes (which is a bit pricey for my small company)?
I can’t find anything in specs for either Domino or Workplace about this.
Please help!
