Can i open a Document manager db without having icon on workspace?

hi whenever i access any cabinet in the DM through lotus notes, lotus notes creates a shortcut to that cabinet on the workspace. can i disable this function. This is because if we

look through 10 cabinets then we get 10 shortcuts on out workspace. Soon the workspace looks very cluttered.
