Hi AllWe have developed a mission critical workflow application for the web. Our users are concerned about being disconnected especially with the recent viruses that knocked out many Win servers.
The best solution seems to be DOLS.
What I have read about DOLS so far seems to talk about “individuals” going offline. Can a DOLS app be taken offline from a company’s own workgroup server on their LAN and then be made available to the LAN users?
The idea being that the users can then use an internal http address to connect to their own LAN based server, if their company is disconnected from the web for whatever reason.
The added benefit with this LAN idea is to satisfy the customers who are uncomfortable with only having their data on remote servers without a local backup copy.
