Can doc-links be mailed across the internet from outlook?

Hi

I discovered something very cool just now: Doclinks can be mailed across the internet from one notes user to another.

Apprantly the doc-link gets translated into:

notes:///88256E9B006750FE/38277302FABBB8EB80256DEE0040E301/B1769B2F243750B288256E29000A20A6

which are the three parts of a doc-link (the replica/View/doc ids).

If notes or outlook recieves this, they understand what to do with a notes:/// url and launch notes etc.

If I try and e-mail a doc-link (i.e. drag a document tab into an outlook message which makes and OLE link) from outlook it goes “flat” and only a notes icon arrives. Seems like any OLE link mailed from outlook gives this same problem.

Is there any way around this?

Perhaps if there was a way to get the notes url rather than the standard ole link and e-mail into the outlook message?

Select a Notes document in a view and open its properties. You can copy/paste the URL from the Meta tab of the properties infobox, marked < + >.

Thanks for the tip.

The problem is that when that gets sent to another outlook user, they just get that as a text string but not a link they can click on.

I noticed when I e-mailed a doc-link, notes translated it into an html link i.e.:

What I want to do is to have the same happen in outlook.

If this can’t be done then I’ve made a button which will place on the clipboard a html link I construct in the above format,and the user just has to paste that into his outlook message.

A problem I’m having si that when I e-mail that out from Notes, the HTML doesn’t get passed through, but the < gets translated into &lt or something similar.

Is there any way to have notes not translate what looks like html and instead just pass it through?

I’ve tried selecting the text and choosing Text/Pass-thru HTML which hilights the text in blue, but the recpeint doesn’t get a link he can click on, he gets the HTML spelled out as typed.
