Call Multiple Agents Concurrently

I have 19+ databases with the same design and agent. I created a Master Agent that goes into each database and calls the agent (x) to runonserver. This works fine. The agent runs one-after-the-other until completion. However, I would like to reduce the run time by being able to run multiple agents simultaneously. Is there a way for the Master Agent to kick off the first agent, then the 2nd and 3rd etc. and not wait for the previous one to complete before initiating the next?

have your master agent issue console commands:

tell amgr run “path\db.nsf” ‘agent’

that way, you’ll get several instances running at once, though I’m sure there are limits.

and don’t forget to raise the Max Concurrent Agents setting in the server doc.

Disclaimer: There is probably a better way to do this - but this should work.

Instead of having your “master” agent call the other agents directly and wait for them to run, just have it set a flag on a profile doc in each database. Inside each target database deploy another agent that runs at whatever frequency is appropriate to check the flag and call the intended agent if the flag is set.
