Is there a way to allow users to view John Doe’s calendar without letting them view his email as well? It seems to be all or nothing, and there is a definate concern about users reading other users’ mail.

Yes, through either the access delegation in the mail file or directly via the ACL.When access delegation menu is used it assigns Calendar only access, if you look at the ACL directly that entry then appears as No Access with Read Public documents checked off.

Odd???
All I do is go into my e-mail: Tools > Preferences
Go to the last tab: Access and Delegation.
On the tab: Access to your Mail and calendar
I select Default and change access button.
(1) Select: Only Calendar and To Do
(2) Select: Read any Calendar Entry or To Do
and leave the (3) options all turned off.
Works fine for me. People can see my calendar entries but not my e-mails. (See an empty Inbox if they try).

And of course its working now…
I don’t know what was going on, but the mail is no longer showing up…all I did was remove the settings and re apply them.

Calendar entries are generaly marked as Public, and so if folks are allowed to view Public documents (but with a level of No Access) that allows access to meetings, without letting them see the e-mail.

I’ve done that and anyone who is given calendar access via access and delegation is able to also read email…is it possible to set all emails as being private?
