Calendar view issues

Hello,

My IT department just made the switch from Notes 7 to 8.5. I am two issues with the calendar view, as follows:

  1. In calendar work week view, I have the time slots set to 60 min. (so that I can display one whole work day on my 1280x800 notebook screen). If I try to move a reminder or an appointment to a time slot on the half hour, Notes wants to put it on the nearest hour, not on the half hour slot I am trying to move it to. Yes, I get the reschedule options pop-up where I can select the half hour slot I wanted, but that is several extra steps. This is not longer the drag and drop behavior that was in 7. Am I doing something wrong, or have I missed a preference setting?

  2. One of the ways I use the Notes calendar is to roll phone calls and other non-meeting items forward, until I have completed them. Towards the end of any given month, in Notes 7, I would open the month view and move them one at a time into the following week, which was the first week of the following month. I can’t do this in 8, because 8 only displays one month at a time in the main calendar view. The month calendar view in 8 lost the scroll bar to the right where I used to be able to view the end of one month and the beginning of the next on the same screen. This is not only annoying, it is a big problem with how I use Notes, and I’m not sure of a work around. Can you advise?

Thank you,

Subject: Moving calendar entries

To move calendar entries you can pick them up and hover over the right arrow (where you normally move the week/month). The week/month will change on the calendar view, then you can drop them to the relevant place.

You can also drag and drop to the calendar picker on the left of the main calendar pane

Thank you Dan.

Your solution works for my item 2, although it’s not as clean as the functionality in Notes 7. Do you know why it was omitted in 8? (Not sure if you work for IBM).

Can you also address my original item 1?

Subject: Sorry, can’t help any more…

Don’t know about your first issue, don’t have the same problem myself.

Don’t work for IBM, and to be honest have never used the calendar as you’re using it, just figured I’d look at the problem (I use ToDos without dates, so they’re just in my list until they get completed)
