Calendar time offset in Notes Standard when in 2008 R2 citrix

I have Notes Standard 8.5.1 fp3 running in a 2008 R2 citrix server, one timezone away geographically. All is fine and dandy, except the calendar views appear offset for users in different timezones.

I’m in a MST time and my calendar entries appear 1 hour off (PST time, where the citrix server is located). Timezone redirection is turned on and the time on the citrix server changes to my local time, but Notes calendar picks up on something else. I’ve been searching for others with issues and some mention in may be using the JVM time, although I’m not sure what a solution would be then.

Do note: the day at a glance feature shows the correct time. It’s only the calendar views that are off.

This happens on two separate 2008 R2 citrix servers… but doesn’t happen on a Windows 2003 citrix server.

Also… this only happens with the eclipse client. The Basic client will work fine if I switch to that.

Anyone else experience this?

Subject: Citrix Server needs CTZ enabled

Hi Scotty,

You need to ensure that the Client Time Zone (CTZ) is enabled on the Citrix Server. This instructs the server to always use the Client Time zone which is what is needed by the JRE.

Here’s a technote I composed to address the problem. Let me know if you have any trouble accessing this link. Looks like it is still in the draft phase.

Subject: Yes… we did all the CTZ settings

Well… perhaps it was the combination of windows 2008 r2 64 bit and xenapp5… but my only solution was to run the shortcut to Notes in compatibility mode to xp-sp3.

Will get me by for now.
