The no sitemap error is a persistant error that is fixable by manually removing the notes cache. I understand that there is software that fixes this bug made available by ‘stellar phoenix’. I think that it is poor that IBM have not rectified a known problem for many years and left customers having to choose between tolerating it and paying for yet more software.
This is a known issue at Lotus: SPR WEBB6ZPMDS, but not yet resolved.
Their first recommendation was to delete cache.ndk - this did not work for me.
Their next suggestion was that it is related to corruption in a profile document, and the solution is to create a new database copy (file>application>new copy) using the user’s ID. This did work for me, however all of the documents in the mail file are now ‘unread’ for the user’s ID.
Had the same problem with upgrading one user from Notes 6.5.6 to 8.0.2, “no sitemap found” when opening calendar. Tried all suggestions previously listed in this thread but none worked. Even tried deleting the calendar profile and that did not fix the problem.
Opened the persons calendar via the admin client and another user and the calendar displayed properly in each case. Figured that this then pointed to something wrong with this users installation.
started up client and re-setup like initial install
resynchronized contacts
I guess I could have accomplished the same thing by uninstalling the client and doing a clean install. Do not know exactly what caused this problem but would like to know.
Maybe making a new copy of bookmark.nsf, names.nsf or desktop6.nsf and replacing originals with the copies might have solved the issue also???
I concur that rebuilding the names.nsf does the trick if just deleting cache.ndk fails to help permanently. I had a Notebook/Journal that was indicating No Sitemap Found…
Today I had a client PC upgraded from 8.0.2 to 8.5.1. The “No Sitemap Found” error message appears when the user opens up their calendar. The mail file works fine. Please note this happens in the Standard client configuration only. When the user opens their calendar in the Basic client the error does not occur.
I see this thread goes back to Jul 08. I do not see a definitive answer as to why the error occurs. Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated!
I have got this issue many times, usually after a client Lotus Domino update. The way to work around this problem is to make a new installation indicating reparing during the startup installation process. The installation is very fast, as the system just needs to check the integrity of the existing files. After that, the system has worked fine.
I was using notes 8.5.3 FP2 July 2012 version and some genius changed my mail template from 1.1 to 1.3. Since I was using the simple version of Notes (no embedded sametime and much faster performance) I did not get an error message. It was only until I switched to the full version that I received the same error message “No sitemap found” which led me to search for the reason that I could not view my calendar except for the grid that everyone mentioned in this forum. For me removing weblink.nsf (I think this is what I removed) worked instantly, Apparently this file stores some of my customizations.
