Scenario:A Notes R5 user (Delta) sends an invitation to a ND6 user (Alpha) with an attachment. (Or vice versa – ND6 to R5 – too, we think.)
When invitee Alpha tries to Accept, she gets TWO “One or more of the source document’s attachment are missing. Run fixup to delete the document in the source database” errors. She clicks okay.
An Acceptance message is sent from Alpha to Delta (good) but Alpha’s calendar is not updated (bad) and the message disappears from the Inbox (lousy).
(Yes, we know it only disappears from the Inbox if there is an appropriate Preference.)
If Alpha goes to the trouble of finding the invitation (still without CalendarDateTime field which would make it display in Calendar view) in All Documents and again Accepts, it does get added to her Calendar (good), but Delta gets another acceptance message (bad).
Questions:
What is this spurious error? The invitation never loses its attachment, so it is not “missing”.
When will Lotus fix this problem? Oh, I know! After there are no more R5 users and the problem goes away.
How can I fix the problem? I don’t mind fiddling in the mail design a bit.

I see this thread is 6 years old with no resolution, but we are seeing very similar behavior when accepting an invitation. Two differences between the original post is we are running R7 and the cause seems to be that the invitations causing the error contain an attachment. This is consistently reproducible between any two users in our agency. I ran debug and the error seems to be generated during the Notice form’s QuerySave event. Like with the original post, if you go into All Documents and re-open the invite, you can accept it with no error. I also found that if you open the invite and close it without doing anything, then you try to open it again you get a “Document has been deleted” message. If you refresh the view, you can open the invite and accept it without an error. Very weird… This is causing quite a bit of problems for us as invites often come with attachments relating to the meeting and we have several senior execs who are missing appointments because the meeting chair sees recipients have accepted but the entry never makes it to their calendar. Any thoughts?!?
