We have a VP whose administrative assistant inputs entries on his calendar. She has been having numerous problems with the appointments disappearing. She reenters them, and then they disappear again. I’ve checked, and they are nowhere in the database - not the Meetings view, and not in any other view.
I’m not sure where to start on this … there are so many things to consider. First, it’s an admin assistant inputting the appointments, not the owner of the database (though she has the same access he does); the VP has a Blackberry (maybe that’s playing a part in this?); the entries that disappear are usually at least a month in advance (after March 19); and there are many overlapping entries on his calendar (though the disappearing entries don’t always overlap with something else).
Does anyone have any ideas on where to go from here? I’ve run fixups, updalls, compacts, etc; I’ve upped his quota; I’ve upped the admin assistant’s access to his mail file. She’s recreated the entries 4 times now and she’s getting a bit nervous that things are disappearing that she’s not catching and he’ll miss an important meeting …

Okay, I just found the entries that went missing last night in the VP’s trash. I restored the entries, but less than 5 minutes later they went back into the trash. What the heck?

The entries are brand new - they show up in the trash within an hour of being created - and they are for meetings at times that are well into the future. We don’t have an archiving tool. We do have a purge that deletes documents older than 60 days, but it runs at night and these entries are put into the trash within an hour of being created (in the middle of the day). I’ve tried setting his calendar on his blackberry to retain forever, and his calendar entries aren’t in his All Documents view so I know he’s not deleting them himself by accident.

a rule only acts on incoming mail so that wouldn’t do it. I would try looking at the Blackberry as the culprit. Does he go through a corporate BES server in your domain or does he subscribe to a hosted service? Maybe he recently changed a setting in the desktop manager.

He uses our corporate BES server. I don’t know if he changed a setting or not, but I can have his admin assistant look … any idea on where I could start? Or something that I can look at on the server end?
