I have a user running Lotus Notes client 6.5.5. The alarm feature is not working. The user is not notified or alerted when a meeting, appointment, reminder or any other calendar entry, is about to occur.
I have verified all the settings within their mail file, under Tools | Preferences | Calendar & To Do tab | Alarms tab, and they are fine.
For example, under Tools | Preferences, the user has specified an alarm to trigger or ‘notify’ them 30 minutes before an Meeting is to occur. Nothing happens! No sound, no pop-up, nothing ![]()
This is what I’ve done so far to troubleshoot the problem, without any luck:
-
Disabled (unticked) the alarms feature in Tools | Preferences
-
Re-enabled (ticked) the alarms feature in Tools | Preferences
-
Refreshed and replaced the design of the users mail file
-
Ran the ‘Fixup’ tool on the users mail file on the Domino server
-
Compacted the users mail file
-
Deleted CACHE.NDK
-
Replaced both BOOKMARK.NTF and BOOKMARK.NSF files
-
Removed the users mail file icon from their Workspace and re-added it
Our organisation also uses iNotes Web Access (Webmail), and I have noticed that the alarms for the user work fine!
I am running out of ideas as to how to resolve this problem. My settings are identical to the users.
