Calculate in colums

Hi there,I have a database in which each person has a performance document several times by month. I have to find a variance per person of all documents, and I am using this formula (in a total column) which is perfect: @If(@Day(DateMonitored) != “”; 1; 0).

My problem is that I have to show in another column this (total - 6) as variance, something like that: (@If(@Day(DateMonitored) != “”; 1; 0)) - 6

But this new formula doesn’t work, instead of reducing it multiplies. ej:

C1 | C1

2 … -10

3 … -15

1 … -5

and i want

C1 | C2

2 … -4

3 … -3

1 … -5

any suggestion I’ll really appreciate… thanks a lot.

Are you looking for the Day of the Month, or the number assoicated with the day of the week (@Weekday) ?

Try breaking up the formula, putting the result of the @if into a variable, the subtracting 6 from the variable. Double check your brackets too.

No, what I am looking is:

I have to account, how many performance document by month each person has?. and then I have to subtract 6 from this result. I am using this formula due to is the only option to know how many time the agent was monitored by month.

So, if the DateMonitored has information, the mean is that person was monitored 1 time, and on…

@If(@Day(DateMonitored) != “”; 1; 0).

my problem is: sum (those days) and then subtracts 6. As I showed in my firts question.

Unfortunatly I cannot break the formula and put into the variable, cause if you doesn’t have any document during the month the view is not going to show any documents, so thoesn’t make sense to add a new field for this.

is more clear now? i hope so. thanks a lot

Claudia,

I am pretty sure that you are not going to be able to accomplish this in a view.

The totals are fairly simple in the way the show totals for a set of documents. The total is not an separate entity that you can work against.

Claudia,

Explain one thing. You say you are using a formula:

“(in a total column)”

What does that mean. You are talking about a view, right, and not a table? I am not really sure what you are saying there.

I will have more questions, if you get that cleared up for me.

(Someone else may understand completely and just send you an answer or enough of a hint for you to figure it out)
