CA process to recover user ID information

Hello all,

Recently I tried to enable CA process to recover user ID information but failed. I saw that user information has been sent to Recovery ID database, but when I detached it and click “ID property” in configuration, password is not the same as I created. You know that it’s a new created account.

The steps for me to enable CA process to recover ID information as follows:

  1. Migrate certifier ID to CA process
  • ICL database will be created

  • Choosing “Encrypt ID with Lock ID” for certifier

  1. Add certifier to CA process

In domino console,

  • “load ca”

  • “tell adminp process all”

  • “tell ca refresh”

  • “tell ca stat”

I saw “active” is yes. After that I saw there is new entries in admin4.nsf and ICL database, then I tried to login user created before CA process. I saw that user information will be sent to recovery database.

After detaching user information in recovery ID database, I click ID properties in domino admin, password is the not same as that created with certifier ID before enabling CA process.

Finally I have two questions to ask:

  1. How can I recover user information using CA process ?

  2. How can I recover user information with CA process automatically without user interruption ?

I will be appreciated if anyone can solve my ambiguities !!

Thanks a lot !!

Tom

Subject: Recovery database is populated with encrypted backups…

The recovery database is populated with encrypted backup copies of the ID files. These encrypted backups cannot be opened with any normal password – the only way to use these ID files again is to recover them through ID File Recovery, at which point the encrypted backup will be given a new password that can be used normally.
