With C API, is it possible to detect the event whereby a new memo (or stored draft message) is opened for editing/composing?
No luck so far with Extension Manager listening on EM_NSFNOTECREATE and EM_NSFNOTEOPEN (unable to differentiate between messages).
Subject: C API - compose memo event?
It is very hard to distinguish these from the backend because at that level, there really isn’t any such thing. I know it is frustrating, because I have been through this as well, but creating a document as Memo doesn’t even mean you will save it as a Memo, since you can switch forms and set Form fields. Also, you can create a memo from LotusScript or formula language and then set the form. It is really not until you send or save that the form tells you anything. At the form event level, you can tell, but that would again miss both the possibility of creating the mail with an agent or creating a Memo in another database. Perhaps if you let us know what you are trying to accomplish, we might be able to come up with suggestions about how else to handle this.

Thanks Ben…
Form events - not sure if are these trappable at the C API Extension Manager or Hook Driver? Will look into it.
What I am trying to do is to simply pop up a custom window created by my add-in whenever the Notes Client shows a compose mail form.
Also, I’m not allowed to modify the templates in the server-side databases.
