I have a button on a page that brings up the search window. I would like to have the search window open in a new window. If I setup an Action Hotspot instead of a button, I can specify that it opens a new window (target=_new). How can I do this with a button?

How about making the button javascript and use window.open()?

Another option is to float a div that prints your search results. It would be hidden initially and your button would then show this div. A button on the div itself would clear and hide it again. This avoids the issue of having possibly moved navigation from one window to another, which is considered somewhat inelegant these days, and also the more important possibility (if this is an internet app especially) of the client’s popup blocker preventing the window from opening.
