Button in a view

I have created a view in which I receive the info I want to appear but I would like to have a yes and no button per line in the view. The idea is to update the underlying record according to the button pressed in the view without entering the document view. Is this possible and if yes how can I do this?

Subject: button in a view

Hi, create an action button with the something like the below. This will toggle the value in the selected document of the view between Yes/No. You’ll need to test it as I just threw it down but is more or less there. Regards.

@If(@GetDocField(@DocumentUniqueID; “yourfieldname”) = “Yes”; val = “No”; val = “yes”);

@SetDocField(@DocumentUniqueID; “yourfieldname”; val)

An alternative if you really need to be able to check each line per document, is to use the inviewedit function, which can be looked up in the Lotus Notes Designer Help.I have not used it myself so have no example code, but see info from designer help below:

Allows the user to edit a document through its view column entries. Occurs as follows:

  1. Query: when the user enters an editable view column entry.

  2. Validate: when the user exits an editable view column entry.

  3. Save: after validation of one or more view column entries in an existing document.

  4. New entry: after validation of one or more view column entries in a new document.

Note This event is new with Release 6.

Defined in

NotesUIView

Syntax

InViewEdit(Source As NotesUIView, RequestType As Integer, ColProgName As Variant, ColumnValue As Variant, Continue As Variant)
