Hello, all!
I have a brand new, intermittent problem with our “Leave Request” system. Take the following example:
I request time off from the 9th of March to the 12th of March. In the form, I do the calculations to figure out how many work days this is, and build a list of dates. In this example, the 10th and 11th are weekends, so it is a total of 2 days, and create a date range of “09/03/2007” and “12/03/2007” (NB: here at the UN we use the standard of “day/mth/yr”).
I have a seperate set of fields for start & end time, also, and this creates a time range, too. This all works perfectly fine, and has since last spring!
In the calendar, however, this one is listed on “09/03/2007” and “11/03/2007”, but not on the 12th of 03/07. =8O There are 4 others like this.
Any ideas of suggestions? Has anyone seen this before? If you need any more information, let me know, and I can answer thru this thread.
Thanks, in advance!

Subject: Can it be a DST issue?
Hi Steve.
I noted that you have March 11 in your values and this is the date the new DST settings come live. Can it be related?
Do you have dates >= March 11th in the other documents that have this problem?
Just a thought…

I agree that DST is probably part of the problem, but I bet that primarily it is an oversight in your code. Are you saving a time-stamp in the date field? I bet it is saving the time as midnight and is not accounting for the DST change. You may be better off removing the time component from the field altogether. Check out the SetAnyTime method. We had something similar in an application a few years ago. Everything looked good pre-DST, but then post-DST, many people were somehow one day younger (or older, I don’t remember). Basically, it was adjusting their birthdate by one hour – one hour after midnight is the next day.

Hello!
Thanks, guys! Bonjour, Ben!
Ça roule?
I thought it might be a DST issue, and it could very well be. There are 3 entries on the 11th, and another 2 entries on the 25th. There are 3 or 4 other entries that span over the two weekends, but are fine.
Could it have to do with the local settings of the people who created the documents? I know that Microsoft has added some patches to individual machines, so maybe some people have (the people for the 11th), and some people haven’t (the 25th). What about the ones who are fine?
I guess I could just write an agent that runs nightly to fix these issues, eh?
Thanks!
