Broken Keyboard Shortcuts in Notes (MAC)

I am looking for input as to how to resolve two broken keyboard shortcuts in Lotus Notes 6.5.3 for MAC OS X.

Specifically what has occurred is that the Command V (Paste Key) and Command Q (Quit Key) stopped functioning in this version of Notes. They were working correctly in prior 6.X versions. Once I start Notes, the Command Q functionalilty stops working in other apps. I then have to repair permissions and clear out my system caches (with a system utility) to return the Quit shortcut in my other apps.

The paste functionality continues to work correctly in Notes via the Edit, Paste menu process, as well as using Ctrl + Mouse Key for the context sensitive menu – then paste, and via the Toolbar Paste Button. The Command V (also called Apple Key - V or Paste) continues to work in all of my other apps even after I start Notes.

I have done extensive trouble shooting and isoloated the problem to Notes 6.5.3. None of my other apps is causing this issue. These keybaord shortcuts work fine in all my apps prior to starting Notes. Once I start Notes, then I loose the ability to use both of these keyboard shortcuts, and have to run my repair utility to regain my Command Q functionality sysem wide.

I use Notes for my companies corporate email and D/B platform. I am a longtime Notes user on both Windows and MAC and haven’t run into this issue before. I’ve searched this forum as well as other web forums searching for a remedy, but haven’t found a solution.

Additional troubleshooting steps, or a solution to the issue are appreciated.

Thanks,
