What wre some good books to teach yourself LotusScript and JavaScript?

Yes, it is, although it’s not a comprehensive LotusScript guide. It is, though, a great resource for Notes and Domino programming in general. A really, really good ground-up tutorial for LotusScript is a series of articles Scott Good did for Lotus Advisor magazine a couple of years back (January to December, 2002). If you don’t have access to the magazines, you can get the whole thing on CD:

For JavaScript, look at the 100% JavaScript Bible (Danny Goodman). Scott Good did a JavaScript tutorial in Advisor during 2003, but I’m not aware of any compiled version.
