Bookmark bar is blank

Hello all.A bit of a strange one here with the bookmark bar for a new starter… It is blank. We can click and drag new bookmarks to it but the default one is blank.

I have deleted bookmark.nsf and recreated. Same problem.

I have replaced the bookmark.ntf and started again. Same problem.

I have fully re-populated the data directory, including the notes.ini. Same problem.

I tried to copy a bookmark.nsf from another new user to his data directory. This is OK and he then has the populated bar. Next morning when logging on he gets bookmark cannot be found errors. So I have to remove this nsf.

Any ideas anyone please?

P.S. I am happy to keep the blank bookmark bar and re-populate it, but how do I add the folders (i.e. database, more bookmarks).

Hi Cameron,

I had a very similar issue with a client with the exact same symptoms. She was a new user who had recently been renamed, after several days of re-creating files and re-installing notes, I re-created the users ID file locally and then placed it in the data directory, ran a notes setup and sucessfully logged in with the bookmark bar displayed and no context toolbar error messages - weird one! Apparently the rename process can cause issues with the bookmarks and is generally solved by restoring the defaults in toolbar preferences, not in this case though. Hope this helps you with your problem and others.
