Block spam on Domino 6.5, need help

hi,i’m new in Domino administration… so call me newbie :wink:

i need to set my domino server to block all SMTP incoming connection for unmanaged domains and also i’d like to block the server from receiving incoming suspicious mail and SPAM and Relay.

e.g.

my managed domains are NEWBIE.COM and NEWBIE.ORG;

just right now if i try a telnet to my_pubblic_IP on port 25 domino reply to me with a HELO command…

now if someone (spammer) say

MAIL FROM: info@newbie.com

RCPT TO: administrator@newbie.com

DATA

bla bla bla bla…

.

Domino accept inbound data and deliver this mail to administrator !!!

  • So… is it possible to block this kind of connection??

  • in this case the spammer IP isn’t a valid MX record for domain newbie.com because only my mailserver has a valid DNS entry… so, is it possible to enable a check for this ??

  • what i need to do ?

Look under Domino Admin help. Go to index and lookup under “SMTP/restricting inbound connections”

If you need more spam controlm, trying to apply third party “spam killer” in the front of your domino server.
