Blank log docs in Linux?

Has anyone ever seen an issue where the Miscellaneous Event documents in the log.nsf are totally blank? This is the first RH + Domino server we have setup. It functions well except there is nothing in the log docs.

The only similar posting I could find by searching this forum was this one:

We were hoping to stabilize LEI 6 – maybe it will run better on Linux than Windows. I guess we will have to wait for R6.5.

Subject: two things to check

if the console is also empty check your resource files in the /opt/lotus/notes/latest/linux/res directory

there should be a sub-directory “C” which should contain the res files for all servertasks and the core containing all error message text. Make sure your notes user can read them.

If you updated form an earlier version take care about the design of your log database. The internal design of the log database has changed completely. There are now multiple fields holding different parts of the log messages.

Look into the fields of the log document and compare this with R5. If there is actually text in it that you don’t see in the document make sure you update with the most recent D6 log.ntf. I had a customer who reported this problem for a certain CF version.

Subject: blank log docs in Linux???

I have seen that issue, however, it was not specific to Linux.

It happens when the log parameter in the notes.ini is misconfigured.

Check it and make sure it lists it as:

Log=log.nsf,1,0,7,40000
