I have seen some posts about installing Blackberry Professional on 8.5x. It is an unsupported solution and that concerns me re: future upgrades, etc. While I appreciate the spirit of “making it work” on Domino 8.5x, it does not make me feel comfortable. It is a shame that RIM released a Blackberry Express for Exchange (for free) and not Domino. This is a real kick in the gut. Guess they were mad at Lotus Traveler!?! We are small and only have 15 BB users so BES is not even close to being an option. I have considered IMAP, BIS forwards, etc… What would be the best option for push email and BB? Our other users (iPhone, Android, WM…) are happy as clams. Thanks in advance. If it’s a mail-only solution, it would be better than nothing. I thought about the mail forwards to the BIS address but was concerned that the mail would not be retained in the mail database on the server.

I have a client in a similar situation. I was stunned that RIM did not release the new SMB product for Domino as well as Exchange. We run Blackberry Professional on a small, VMware based Domino 7 server. The mail server is 8.5.1. Works fine.

Thanks for all responses! Stuart… are you running on 8.5.1 or is your BPS server dedicated on V7?
