Best way to accomplish this

Best way to do this?

Campus wants to send an encrypted email with a payroll advice pdf file to staff that are on Domino email from PeopleSoft. PeopleSoft will send SMTP email, but they don’t know if/how to encrypt it.

They have asked me if they can send a .txt file with names/email addresses and a set of pdf files with user name as the file name. Can I program a db/action button so that HR person can click on it to run when ready? It will then read and parse the .txt file, compose an encrypted email and attach the correct pdf file(could be 2 files) to it and then email it to the staff.

It seems that there should be a simpler way (KISS). Any suggestions?

Instead of mailing out encrypted emails containing embedded pdfs, in my opinion, you should create a database that stores one document per name/email address. Into each document you, now, embed a pdf/pdfs belonging to the corresponding employee. You can then send out emails containing just a document link and control access to individual documents using readers field. You can also enable LZ1 compression for attachments in the db so as to save disk space. The agent that you design can run on a schedule, access the text file, find the user name, locate the pdf and embed the same into individual documents and, finally, generate an email. If you search the forum you should find some example of the same. It might not contain the exact code, but you will surely get a fair idea of how it can be done.
