Subject: And one to avoid, in my opinion…
GFI for Domino…I’ve been less than impressed and will be taking a look at some of the products already mentioned here. We’ve also tried Spam Sentinel before…It was alright, but I thought it was a bit pricey.
Subject: Another Good one
Is SpamSentinel. They also offer a hosted offering so there’s nothing to install on the servers. I’ve gotten great support from them.
Subject: SpamSentinel
I’ve used SpamSentinel for years; it’s the best by far and their support is excellent.
Subject: Postini
After years of working with AntiSpam products and the built-in Domino anti spam features and constantly tweaking things and playing cat and mouse with the spammer, we switched to Postini a year ago.
It was so easier and effective, I kicked myself for not doing it sooner. We looked at appliances that cost $10,000 or more plus user fees. Postini cost us a $500 setup fee plus $1 per user. Educational institutions get a steep discount. Corp customers pay more.
Of all the projects I’ve worked on, I’ve had more positive responses from end users since implementing it. They literally stopped me as I walked down hallways and sent emails thanking me that they didn’t get so much spam in their inboxes anymore.
Postini took the load off of our email server. Our email server only process 10% of the volume it did before implementing Postini, leading to less performance degradation, crashes, etc.
Do it. You’ll be glad you did.
