I suddenly have a weird problem on my bb server. I have 3 servers in a domain. 2 mailservers (clusterd) and 1 bb server. When notesuser A sends an email with in the cc field 2 other notes users and person B replies to all with his BB it looks like the BB server changes the outbound address. The Inbound address is still correct but suddenly the outbound domain is changed to the the windows domain so the addres changes to name@xxx.xxx.local (server internet hostname is also name.xxx.xxx.local)
Anyone any ideas?

Have you changed the hostname field in the server document of the BB server recently? Do you have a Global Domain document in your Domino Directory? If your SMTP domain name is different from your windows domain name (as defined in the hostname field of the server document), then you need a Global Domain document to define rules for converting the sender’s Notes mail address on an outbound SMTP message to an Internet address.

Thank you for you reply. I havent changed the hostname field. I have multiple globaldomain documents. But I dont think this is relevant. They have been there for years and everything worked fine.I just tested . I change the mail file location for a person from server A to the bb server ( same domain/addressbook) and I email that person same problem. Delivery failure and on the bb server it change the “outbound recipient” again. How is it possible that it changes an email address in the same domain… I thinking a problem with the addressbook or maybe the mail.box on the bb server. I cant think of a setting that would do this to mail in the same domain
any help would be greatly appreciated

In the latest scenario, when you send an e-mail to the user whose mail file is now on the BB server, is it using Notes mail routing, or is it trying to send using SMTP?
I still supect the problem is related to your global domain documents, especially if the name of your smtp domain is not the same as your server (Windows) domain. Read the Admin Help topic : “How Domino uses Global domain documents during inbound and outbound SMTP routing”.
Perhaps the views in the Domino directory on the BB server need to be rebuilt, or maybe there is rep/save conflict on that server.
