Running Domino 6.5.5 on iSeries 270, OS v5r2m0. We do backups using the SAV command with “SAVACT” (save active files=yes) but if an NSF is open, it doesn’t get backed up. Anyone found a solution or workaround?
Subject: BRMS is what you want to use
BRMS will allow you to save NSFs while the server is up, the SAV command will not.
Subject: Backing up - can you backup open NSF?
We’re able to use BRMS on an iSeries v5r3 and successfully use save while active of Notes databases. Perhaps that feature was updated in the later release, but I’d suggest contacting IBM support to find out for sure.
Subject: Backing up - can you backup open NSF?
Hello!
We had earlier the same system, so iSeries 270 vith v5r2m0, and the BRMS is working really fine! I think, there is no other way, to back up data, which is already open. This is not a big deal, to install BRMS (but is quite expnesive), create policies, and the backup will run.
You need to perform an IPL only, if you make a full backup.
Hope, I could help!
Best regards:
