I use Backup Exec 11D to backup the Notes mail files. It is taking 11 hours to back up 183GB of these files to tape. It only takes my File server 3 hours to back up 200GB. The server that is running backup exec is connected via SCSI to our tape drive. All of our servers are connected via Gigabit Ethernet on Dell switches. Is anyone else experiencing this slowness with Notes databases being backed up?

I’m not sure what part of your setup is causing this, but it’s not Domino - we backup 500-600GB of Domino data in about 4 hours on LTO2.

We are writing about 300 GB in under 2 hours on our fibre-attached LTO3 drive using BRMS on an iSeries.

Peter, we are using LTO2 also. We have a Dell Powervault l22t tape library. If you are using Backupexec 11D, can you tell me any of your settings? Thanks!

It is taking 16-17 hours to backup of 550GB on LTO2 tape drive.The server that is running backup exec is connected via SCSI to our tape drive.Is there any solution for getting completed in less time.
