AXIS Web Service Consumer

I’d really appreciate a few pointers on a problem I’m having with a Web Service consumer in Notes 7.

I followed the tutorial: Consuming Web services from a Lotus Domino Java agent (IBM - United States), creating the Java stub files from the WSDL, inserting them into a Java Script Library and calling the the WS via a LS agent.

It works fine with the axis files (axis.jar, commons-discovery-0.2.jar, and commons-logging-1.0.4.jar) placed in the Notes\jvm\lib\ext directory.

But due to organizational restrictions, I can’t use the WS this way (can’t access user’s machines).

When I remove those files from the Notes directory and place them in the Java Script Library, the WS fails with this message:

( LS2J Error: Threw java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError )

Hopefully this is enough info for some feedback or maybe point me to a place where I can research this issue.

Thanks, in advance.

Subject: Just saw a thing about this on nsftools.com…

  • Don’t have R7 so I didn’t read if he’s putting the libs in ext or not, but you might have a look-see. It’s his “Stubby” application, which should be locatable with search at the top of the page.- Hope this helps…
