It`s looks like the availabilityindex is not working. The server get ‘0’ and I can log in and everything is working ok. Is it working???
Subject: AvailabilityIndex not working ?
I’ve noticed the same problem when I upgraded from Domino 5.0.11 to 6.0, I was told the problem will be fixed in 6.0.1, but I have upgared to 6.0.1 and the problem is still there. I have noticed however if you actually monitor the server performance, evn when in Domino Availability is at 0(Busy) the actual server is saying only 8% of CPU is being used and only 1/3 of the memory is being used. So the server is actually OK. Also if you don’t want people to acces the server when it’s supposidly busy then make sure you have the notes.ini setting “Server_Availability_Threshold=??” is set to something greater then 0. Does anyone have any ideas why the Availability Index is reported incorrectly?? I have used the “Server_Transinfo_Normailze” setting in the notes.ini, but this doesn’t make a difference.

i can set the server_availability_threshold set to 100, always busy, and you can still connecti can set server_restricted to 1 or 2 and can still connect
neither of these settings seems to be working
the server is part of a 3 way cluster and the databases are on another cluster member

I have made a request to Lotus-support on this issue. Something to put into Notes.ini had been nice. because now the users are getting the message that the server is unavailible. And it`s running really nice. Can I tell the servers not to use the Index?

In the Notes.ini on the Domino Server you can add the line ‘Server_Availability_Threshold=0’ which tells the server to always be available. Obviously if the Server runs out of resources i-e processor and memmory resources then the server will grind to a halt!
