When “type ahead-ing” an email address, in an email, you get the dynamic drop down of names. Am I right in saying this drop down only comprises of addresses you have previously emailed from the PC you are on…are they stored in the names.nsf? I thought it might also search the address books as specified in the preferences and location document.

If I type “do” and then hit the Enter key, it does what I expect, it displays in the drop down, any entries whose first or last names begin with “do”.

How do I get this to trigger on each keystroke?

The location document is set to “Recipient name type-ahead=Local then server” and “Activate recipient name type-ahead=On each character”

N.B. If I send an email to Joe Bloggs, the next timne I type ahead “j…o…etc”, his name will appear on each keystroke, no Enter is required to display his name.

Is this working as intended?

Many thanks in advance,

Nick

Subject: Working as designed

What you are describing is working as designed. On each keystroke, Notes will look locally (NOTE that this includes recent contacts) for contacts matching what you have typed in. In the event that the entry does not exist locally, you must click or press enter on “Search Directory” at the bottom of the drop down and the domino directory will be searched.
