When we archive our mail files with the criteria of ‘not accessed in 180 days’ we are losing contacts that have been automatically synced with our mail file for iNotes access. Has anyone dealt with this? I looked to see if there was a view we could exclude in the archiving criteria, but the view is a hidden view. I’ve thought about writing an agent that would ‘modify’ the contacts so they would always be current, but this seems a little counter-productive. Has anyone run into this? If so, how did you solve it? Thanks in advance for your help.
Subject: Agent to archive
Hi,I think that the “simplest” way is to write an agent who do the archiving (principe : selection criteria, copying document into the archive file and delete it (if you like) from the mail file).
Subject: Archiving
Thanks for your reply. We have since discovered that server based archiving is archiving records in copies of personal address books that we keep on the server. This seems to me to be a bigger problem than we first thought.
Subject: Contact synch tool with restore / rollback
We have a contacts synchronization tool which may help. Each time a synchronization is performed it will take a snapshot of all your contacts (number of snapshots is configurable). You can rollback all or selected contacts from any point in time.
The synchronization tool also performs automatic synchronization, multiple address books, multiple mailfiles and detects when an address book has gotten out of synch with the mailfile.
