Authentication for Web Users

Hi,

I am new to web. I have one new db, how can I make available that to web users. What minimum ACL level I can give to web users to get login window and how should I give, Is I need to add Anonymous???And after login , if I want user to only create document, should not even read his own document what Access level I should give to those users.Pls help me on this.

Hi Latha,

Anonymous entry works for web users and default for the client, and if there is no anonymous entry then default works for both. Create a group and give depositor access (Users who only need to contribute documents but who do not need to read or edit their own or other users’ documents). And set Internet Password for the users. Keep Anonymous as No access.

Anonymous entry for web users is good practice. So, try to have a Anonymous.

Internet Password can be set at person document in NAB.

If you open person document, in basics tab you can see a Set Internet Password button.

Let me know still if you have any problems.

  Thankq very much for quick response. I will do tomorrow in the office, I am just back to home. So If I create Anonymous entry with No Access level so anybody in the internet or intranet can access the db(but they cannot read or write documents) rt? So Any user without any ACL level(or having minimum No Access can login to DB rt?I sorry for troubling U,I am not sure exactly how it works in WEB .

     I have one db, I want to give access to only one department with same notes id,password. Now tell me how to set access to db i.e particular server/DB.

Hi Latha,

Create One ID and pass it to the particular department.

For Example - Create an ID ‘training’, add this id to the database acls and provide appropriate access level with user type as Person and make sure default as No Access.

Here existing code generating/printing duplicate records in few cases.
