Authenticate Web user via Active Directory LDAP

I am trying to authenticate web/imap/pop3 users using an LDAP query to an Active Directory server (rather than the ‘internet password’.)

I’ve created a Directory Assistance database - but I’m not sure where to go from here. Can someone describe the whole setup or point me to some helpful documents with examples?

Thanks.

  1. Create a directory assistance db2. Open the Directory assistance db and click on “Add Directory Assistance”

3.In the “Domain Type” field, choose LDAP. Make sure you type in your LDAP domain name and the “Enabled” field is set to Yes.

  1. Also make sure the field “Make this domain available to” has “Notes clients and Internet Authentication/Authorization” option enabled

5.Go to the LDAP tab to fill in the connection parameters for you LDAP server (Hostname, Username and password, port, etc.)

  1. You also have to go to the server document and fill in the “Directory Assistance Database name” field with the filename for the database you created (relative to the data directory).

  2. You have to restart the server for directory assistance to take effect.
