Attempt to sign gmail through Lotus Notes: your current ID does not contain an internet certificate for signing

Hi, I’m using Lotus Notes 8.5 client to receive/send my gmail.I need to sign the outgoing gmail through Lotus Notes.

I already imported an X.509 cert and I can see it in User Security->Your Identity->Your Certificates->All Certificates.

However, it’s not shown in User Security->Your Identity->Your Certificates->Your Internet Certificates section.

Also, not sure if it has anything to do with it, but I got “Your home server could not be contacted or is not configured to provide requested information. Information not retrieveed: Your aliases and Internet email name” when I first clicked Your Identity.

Anyway, whenever I tried to send a signed outgoing gmail (Sign checkbox checked in Delivery option), i got “your current ID does not contain or does not specify an internet certificate for signing”

could someone please help?

thank a lot

Subject: You also need to import that certificate’s private key

If a certificate shows up in the “All Certificates” box but not the “Your Internet Certificates” box, that indicates that the certificate, but not the associated RSA keys, are stored in the ID file. You’ll need both in order to use that certificate for S/MIME signing and decryption.
