Attachments with slow connections

Hi all,

I have a problem occuring to client release 5.13 and 6.03.

When opening a mail containing an attachment of let’s say 900Kb while connected via low speed connections such as GPRS or 56Kb modem some clients downloads the whole amount of data of the attachment before displaing the message while other clients just display the message after a few seconds without downloading the attachment.

Is there somewhere an option to set in order for the client not to automatically download the atttachment?

Coul it be that those clients use a virusscanner?Some anti-virussoftware allways download the whole attachment to scan when opening a document.

I assume you are talking about users who are replicating their mail databases to their local computers. You can limit what is replicated:

  1. Select the local replica db.

  2. Choose File - Replication - Settings…

  3. On the Basics tab, edit the “How much will be replicated” > “Receive documents from server” fields.

Actually I’m not referring to replicas but to the opening of messages on line.

in this case you should use local replica !

Hi all I solved the porblem disabling the real time virus protecion scan in SAV 4.0.

SAV doesnt scan attachements at the opening of the message causing the whole amount of data to be download, but when yhe attacchment is opened.
