By default, a click on an attachment will always open in the same window.

To get the behaviour you are after, you need to create other links on the form.

Hide the attachments using the $V2AttachmentOptions flag and create plain anchor-tags referring to the attachments.

You can refer to the attachments using the $File syntax, but all you need to do is hover your mouse over the existing attachments and copy the actual links.

The anchor-tags should have target=blank in them so that the attachments open in new window.

I created a form and attached two files to it.One pdf file and one Word document.

Using web preview, I open the form in MSIE.

Not surprisingly, I see both attachments and if I click on them they open in the same window.

To ‘steal’ the links, do this:

  1. Right-click an attachment and choose option ‘Copy Shortcut’.

  2. Go back to the form and paste in the ‘shortcut’ somewhere on the form.

Repeat steps 1 and 2 for each attachment.

You need to make the ‘shortcuts’ into proper anchor-tags.

For each ‘shortcut’, change text to this:

The text you want

Mark the text as pass-thru HTML.

The links should now work.

You should replace the part of the shortcuts starting with ‘http’ and ending with ‘.nsf’ with a computed text value.

The computed text should have “/” + @WebDbName as formula.

To hide the original attachments, all you need to do is to enclose them in a div-tag.

Before the attachments, put this text:

Mark as pass-thru HTML.

After the attachments, put this text:

Mark as pass-thru HTML.

There, all done.

Well, perhaps you should be a bit more inventive and try some yourself before you ask for more help.

The ‘Copy Shortcut’ happens to be what it is called in MSIE 7.

In Firefox the ‘Copy link location’ gives you the same result.

The code/html is written directly in the form.

Where else would you have Pass-thru HTML?

I am sure you’ll be able to sort this out now.
